Hey Everyone!

This weekly email will be shorter than usual. We have had 8 baptisms in two weeks. Two families 😀

The M family is doing really well. C just recently had surgery to remove a brain tumor! He is seriously such an amazing kid. He went through everything like a champ. He is so Christ- like and loving and he is just fully trusting in God. He is doing amazing now. :)

This week we've been doing lots of door knocking. We did get a couple of potentials...miracles! And I was also able to go on trade offs with Sister Patch. She is amazing. For a good hour and a half we went PCing on campus. And it was a BLAST!! I hope one day I will serve on campus. It just always boosts my confidence every time. And it's just so much fun! I love it! We had a lot of fun.

I am doing great! I am loving this work more than ever! And I can't believe I have like 5 months left! I love mission life and I love Michigan! Love you all!!

Hey everyone!

It's been another great week here in Bay City! I am loving this work more than ever!!

This week we witnessed the McQuillin family baptism! And oh what a joy it was to see that! This family went through a lot to get to this point and I am beyond grateful for them and proud of the progression they have made!

Nothing brings me greater joy than to see God's children enter the waters of baptism! And someone that we baptized a couple of weeks ago spoke at their baptism and talked on baptism. She shared her experience and bore her testimony! It was seriously amazing! The spirit was definitely there! And then yesterday after they all received the Holy Ghost. N's son C, who is ten years old started to cry. He looked over at his mom and smiled and said: "I am so happy, we joined the church!" That is what makes everything worth it. It was such a sweet moment.

K is doing good. She said she is not ready for baptism yet but she continues to invite us over so that's good! She is enjoying the lessons. We just need to work on her husband because he is more on the fence than she is.

We did some door knocking  to try to find new people to teach. Everyone says no, or I'm all set, but they are so nice to us. And even if it's cold it's still worth it.  Sister Martin and I still put a smile on our faces and enjoy the work.

I am still more than loving this work! It truly is the work of salvation! Love you all!

Hey everyone!!

This week was amazing! As you can see I hit my big ONE YEAR!! I've learned a lot and I am happy with the person I've become! And I can't wait to see where these last 5 months will take me!

On Saturday we had a baptism!! A family of four. It was a returning member's kids. It was such an amazing baptism and experience. The one image I can't get out of my head was when they all walked in the chapel with their white clothes on. And just how happy they all looked. I seriously almost cried! Seeing God's precious children enter the waters of baptism brings me so much joy! I was able to give the talk on baptism. And I couldn't stop smiling. I explained to them my own experience when I was baptized. And how their baptism will bless their life like its blessed mine. The spirit testified to me that this is why I'm out here. Why I am sacrificing 18 months of my life. I am here to help them come closer to Christ by entering the waters of baptism. There is seriously no other place I'd rather be. I know that I'm supposed to be here :)

The neat thing was that N and her kids went to the baptism because they are really good friends with that family, anyway N told me how happy she felt and the peaceful feeling she felt too. She said that she got emotional and that she is so excited to be baptized this Saturday!

Anyway I am so happy for the S kids and their decision to be baptized. I am so happy that I was able to be a part of their conversion. And seeing them receive the Holy Ghost yesterday really touched my heart. They all were happy and smiling and I know that they made the right choice by being baptized.

I am so happy and blessed to be here on a mission! I have met some amazing people who have blessed my life. I love you all and thank you for your love and support!

Hey Everyone!!

It's been a very FREEZING week here in Michigan. It's been the coldest it's been in like 30 years! So I feel honored to be a part of that!!

So because it was so cold, President Brennan wanted us to not be out a lot door knocking. So we had lots of appointments this week, with the people we are currently teaching, returning members and members. It was a lot of fun. And we also did  lots of unplanned service opportunities.

For example, last Tuesday  Sister Martin  and I were trying to think of service opportunities that we could do and we thought it would be perfect to go out and scrape off the car windows. But when we went out there we realized that everyone's car windows were already scaped.
As we were walking to our car we saw this guy shoveling out the snow off his car. And so we asked if he needed any help and he said that he needed help jumping his car. So we got out  of our car and parked right by his car and he had the jumper cables. We were able to jump his car and help him start it. We got a shovel and helped him shovel the snow off his car.  We were able to introduce ourselves and give  him and give him our card and told him that if he needed anymore service or if he wanted to learn more to just give us a call. We were able to help some other people get unstuck in the snow. And there were also other people who helped us in the snow as well. It was the perfect opportunity to talk to people. I love these unplanned service opportunities.

We were able to teach K a couple of times too. We met her while door knocking a couple of weeks ago. She is seriously so sweet. We have had two lessons with her so far and she is really liking it. I am so excited to see where this goes.

We were also able to meet with a family of 4 that we also met while door knocking. And we only taught them once but we will be teaching them the second discussion tonight! I am so excited.

We taught another family of 4. And it first was just the son S and his friend D that was interested. But then his mom K and sister K became interested. They are all willing to learn more. So we set up another appointment to see them this Saturday.
This last week we were able to get 9 new people to teach! So we will be crazy busy teaching a lot of people but we are so ready and excited.

We also have a baptism this Saturday for a family of 4. It's a returning member's kids. And we are so excited about that!! I cannot wait for them to enter the waters of baptism.

I am just loving this work!! I am loving the people!! And I love being a missionary :) Thank you all for your love and support and prayers! I can truly feel them!! Hope you all have a fantastic week :)

Hey everyone!

First off thanks for all the birthday wishes!! It truly was an amazing day and so special and unique!! Love you all!!!

So on Wednesday we had a really cool Door knocking experience and really we didn't DK we just saw people outside of their house and we just talked to them.

We first met this very nice lady, L. She was so sweet. We gave her a Book of Mormon and our card. And then after that we met B, he was shoveling snow. So we crossed the street and asked if he needed any help he said no but we talked to him for a good 30, maybe 40 minutes. We talked about the restoration and he really enjoyed it. But then his wife came out and told us to leave Haha. It was pretty funny but so cool to talk to him. And then as we were going back to our car we saw this guy, his name was K and so we got out of the car and started talking to him. He didn't look at all interested but he was so sweet to us!!
And then we saw A that night! She is doing so much better! I absolutely love her.

Friday was my birthday!! Sister Martin spoiled me! It was such a fun day! We got transfer calls and we are both staying here in Bay City!!! I am so excited! I love it here so much. So I'm happy that I get to be here for another 6 weeks!!
On my birthday we saw our dear friend M! She's amazing! We had a lesson and had some ice cream to celebrate my birthday! Then we did weekly planning.  Sister Martin took me out to dinner to Panera Bread for dinner! So that was really good. Then we went door knocking!! It was COLD! But we still had a good time.

We went to D's and we had a lesson and she gave me a sweet little care package!! I seriously love her and her family so much! And our lesson with them was really good. It was the boldest I've ever been. The spirit was definitely there!

And another amazing highlight was yesterday. We were at church and N said how she and her kids want to move their baptismal date up to February 16th instead of the 23rd. So we are so excited about that!!!

And another miracle, a few days ago we went door knocking and met this lady named K. She was so sweet and very receptive to our message. We gave her a BOM and our card and told her to call us if she had any questions or if she needs a service opportunity. Anyway this morning she called us!! And she wants to meet with us. We set up an appointment go see her on Wednesday!! Miracles after miracles! God is blessing us here in Bay City!!

I am doing amazing! I love this work so much!! Thanks for all the love and support!!

Jan. 23 2019

Sister Martin is so cute! She planned out my birthday Haha! So I am actually pretty excited about that!

It snowed yesterday and the day before it was -6 this morning. And it feels like -20! So this is gonna be a blast. I gotta start layering up now! But it was funny cause last night me and Sister Martin were checking on a less active and we thought that since we were there we would door knock a few houses around her. And it was like 3 degrees but it felt like -18. And I was wearing gloves and a hat, my coat and snow boots and I still couldn't feel my toes or fingers. So we went back in the car and did some daily spiritual contacting before our appointment at 7:30. It was cold but it was fun:)

Jan. 7 2019

Hello EVERYONE!!

I hope you all had a wonderful new years! 2019 has already been pretty great! Here are the highlights:

So N and her kids and doing amazing!! They are still on baptismal date for Feb. 23rd. A while ago we taught them the Word of wisdom and N has stopped smoking!! So that was awesome! It was so funny when we were teaching the Word of wisdom D was drinking a cup of coffee and he over heard that we couldn't drink coffee. And so he with his full cup of coffee he went into the kitchen and dumped it all in the sink. It was so neat and funny!

The S kids are doing so good! They are on baptismal date for Jan. 26th. So we are super excited about that. They are such amazing kids! Part member families is the way to go! 😊

We also did a lot of door knocking! And we met some amazing people!!
So first we wanted to see some less actives but we both thought that we should door knock around the area instead. And so the second door that we knocked on we met T and J. A son and mother. We were talking to T first. And we talked to him for a good 20ish minutes. And the his mom came out and started talking to us. And they both seemed interested in our message. We gave them a Book of Mormon and our number and they gave us their number and we set up an appointment to see them on Tuesday!

And then on Friday while we were doing weekly planning I had a feeling to go see a referral that we received a long time ago and that we haven't seen in a while. We went to her house and she wasn't home! So we decided to door knock around her house. And we met some amazing people. One of them was F.  She was walking into her house and we stopped her and told her who we were. She said that she is always interested in learning new things. We exchanged contact information. And we texted her and set up an appointment to also see her on Tuesday! So that was amazing!!

And another amazing person we met while door knocking was A. He is hilarious!! He is a total gander. He was telling us really cool stories and telling us about himself. He said that he would love to meet with us. And he said that he wants his friends to join as well. So we will be getting in touch with him soon!!

So yeah, this week was pretty AMAZING!! I am loving this work so much! And I can't wait to work so hard for these last 6 months. There is seriously no other place I'd rather be.
Love you all! Thanks for all the love and support!

December 31, 2018

Hello everyone!

I hope you all had a very merry Christmas! I know I did!! I am so grateful that I was able to Skype my family. I love them all so much!! Anyway here are the highlights from the week!

On Monday was Christmas eve! For dinner we went to the M's and had some amazing, delicious tamales! Everyone from the ward was there! It was a lot of fun. After that we went door knocking for an hour. It was actually kinda fun. And we talked to some really nice people.

Tuesday was Christmas. We had lunch with the N family. It was SO MUCH FUN! We had some really fun conversations and she gave us some really fun gifts. We also took some really fun pictures as well. I will attach some pics.

Sister Martin and I wanted to buy some roses and hand them out to some people. But no stores were open so that was a bummer :( and then I talked to my family!!! And that was the highlight of my Christmas! I've come to love and appreciate my family a lot more! Love you guys! ❤
We thought we would go to a gas station to see if there would be any Roses, nope Haha! But we talked to the person working there for a little bit. And we gave her a light the world card and told her to call us if she needed anything.

We then had a feeling to go to a member's house. So we did. And they let us right in. Right when we went in Sister W asked us if we wanted some pumpkin pie. So we ate some pumpkin pie and talked to Brother and Sister W and their daughter L. We also shared with them a spiritual thought. It was so much fun. Before we left they told us how much they appreciated us coming.
They are serving in the west branch so that's why we never see them at church. They told us that it feels like people have forgotten about them so they said it meant a lot that we came. We then had dinner with D and her family. Amazing food. It was so good!! We had some fun conversations. And I am just beyond grateful for D and her cute family! Seriously BEST CHRISTMAS EVER!!!

On Wednesday we bought 2 dozen roses. We wrote a spiritual thought on a piece of paper. With the lighttheworld cards on them and in the spiritual thought it said that no matter the time of year, even if it's not Christmas to always remember Christ! We went downtown and handed out 10 Roses downtown. And then the rest of the Roses we gave to less actives in the ward. It was so much fun.

On Thursday we had a lesson with D. I don't know if I ever told you how we met Dl. We met him at the human library. And we gave him our number. And ever since then he kept in contact. And then he started to show interest. We taught him a couple of times now. We put Dl on baptismal date for Feb. 2. He seemed really excited about it! So that was exciting.
And we also met with D and the M family. And they are all doing good 😊

On Friday we had district council and interviews with President Brennan. I know I say it every time. But President Brennan is amazing!!! I always walk out of interviews with an overwhelming feeling of the spirit.
And then we met with N. We made a calendar for her that shows her her baptismal plan. She seemed super excited about it. I have seriously seen a change in her since we've started to meet with her! I seriously love her so much!!

On Saturday we met with M! Oh how I love and adore her. We taught her the 4th article of faith. And a way we helped her memorize it is:we made some hand signals so she could remember. It was so much fun!

Yesterday was a good day! First off it was our first 2nd hour block. We had 8 people who we are teaching come to church. And then at church a returning member V, her two kids H and S wanted to be baptized! So that was amazing!

After church there was a baptism for an 8 year old. We stayed after with D and her family and they watched the baptism. It was really cool to have them there.
Afterwards we met with N and her 3 kids. Her kids said that they all wanted to be baptized! At the end of the lesson N's son C said the closing prayer. And as he did that I teared up a little bit. Nothing is better than hearing someone who you are teaching pray. The spirit was definitely there. After that V's other daughter Lout of no where said she wanted to be baptized too!! So we put her, H and S on baptismal date for Jan. 26th. So now in total we have 8 people on baptismal date. Sister Martin and I freaked out after the lesson! We are both just so happy!!

Sorry for the long email! So many good things happen that it was too good to not share!! I am super happy and I am so grateful for 2018 and what it brought me! Happy new years!! Love you all!

Hello everyone!

We are no longer a trio which is really sad! I said bye to my best friend Sister Anderson. She was transferred to MSU to be an STL! She'll do amazing though!
Other than that this week was good! Here are the highlights:

Thursday we had zone conference. It was the best zone conference ever! We had lots of musical numbers and the spirit was just so strong! My district and I did a musical number is was really fun!

Friday night we met with N, she is doing really good! She says that everything is making sense and that she feels happier!
That same night we went to the ward Christmas party and that was a lot of fun! We had some less actives come and D came as well so that was awesome!!

Saturday we did a service project at B's house. We cleaned his backyard and basement he even gave us full on suits and masks. It was a lot of fun! And then after that we quickly went to our apartment got ready and dressed and then went to the mall to wrap some Christmas presents. That was a lot of fun!! We talked to some really nice people and it was a great way to light the community!

On Sunday N said that she wanted to join the church. She just said how happy she was when she saw her kids there and how happy they were and she loves how there is no negativity there. She just started to cry! It was an amazing experience!

And yesterday we helped a less active in our ward, Sister D wrap some gifts. It was so much fun. I seriously love serving so much. And just seeing the look on Sister D's face made it worth it. I truly have felt God's perfect love for her!

I love being on a mission I've never been happier! I love the people of Michigan! And I am happy!!! Thank you all for the love and support!! Love you all!

Hello everyone!

N and her family again came to church. We had a total of 10 people at church yesterday. 5 if them are people that we are currently teaching! So that was amazing!!!

It was also Sister Martin's birthday just last Wednesday!  Sister Anderson and I decorated her desk and made her breakfast- we went all out. I love Sister Martin! She is an amazing example to me of Christ-like love! I love that she loves this work! She is amazing!

I am loving the new LightTheWorld initiative! It's even more special while I am out here on my mission! We've been doing lots more service and handing out cookies to less actives and members of the ward who are sick and the people we are teaching! I just love serving! I remember in my patriarchal blessing it says something like I will enjoy doing small acts of service. That is so true!! I love it because I am able to forget myself and go to work and to feel the christ-like love for the people here in Michigan!

I have also officially been out for 10 months!! What the heck! That went my so so so fast! I am excited to make the most out of my last 7 months!!

I love you all! Thank you for all the prayers and love and support! I can feel them all! Happy holidays!

  • Hello everyone!

Can you believe it's December already? Time is seriously just flying by!

Well it was a good week! Here are the highlights!

On Tuesday we had a lesson with D.
We were about to start the lesson but then 10 minutes after we were there- he left.

But D's  fiancé, V, invited her friend N to come and sit in on the lessons.
So we talked to her for a bit. We got to know her. And she asked us some questions.
She got emotional and told us that she wants to start meeting with us! We were able to pick her up as another person to teach! We also invited her to church and she said that she would come. We just needed to get her transportation. So we found her a ride. And she and her three kids went to church yesterday! So that we amazing!!

On Friday we went to Midland to see a nativity! A member of the ward brought her non-member sister to it. So it was perfect! They had over 900 nativities from all around the world! It was so beautiful! It made me more excited for this Christmas season!

We also had trade offs. Sister Anderson  and I were with Sister Patch. All three of us went door knocking Thursday night for a good 30, maybe 40 minutes. After we were done door knocking we were walking back to our car. As we were walking back, this dog started charging after us. I kinda freaked out cause it was a big dog but Sister Anderson said to not move. So I just stood there. The owner ran up and apologized. We started talking to this guy. And explained who we were. He said that he used to be religious. But he told us that ever since his step dad died he stopped going to church and didn't believe that a loving God would let his stepdad die.  I was able to bear my testimony to him of the plan of Salvation and that he will see his dad again. I also was able to bear my testimony to him of the BOM and the peace and comfort he will receive as he reads it. We just thought it was cool cause he said that his step dad died like a year and a half ago of that very day we were there. And his dog happened to run up to us that day. It was was pretty cool!

For our worldwide day of service we made rice krispie treats along with a spiritual thought and we would ding dong ditch people that we were teaching and members of the ward. It was actually a lot of fun!! I just love serving!! It seriously is the best!

Thank you all for your love and support! I truly love being a missionary in the Michigan Lansing Mission! I am grateful for the testimony I have been able to develop of the Atonement of Jesus Christ! He loves you all! He perfectly understands what you're going through!

    Love you all!
